Dr. Jo Bennett

 

Dr. Bennett has served on the CREOKS Board of Directors for the past 7 years in all capacities and is currently the Secretary/Treasurer.  Dr. Bennett is wife to J.B. Bennett for the past 51 years and mother to Dana, Bo and Bon.  She has lived in Okmulgee for the past 60 years.  Dr. Bennett also serves on the CASA Board of Directors and prior to retirement served on numerous state-wide Professional Board related to education.  Dr.

 

Bennett is a school psychologist.  Her work history includes learning disabled educator; Director of the Tulsa-Okmulgee Regional Education Service Center; Director/Administrator of the Five County Cooperative in McAlester; Development Specialist at the Okmulgee County Health Department and is presently a Contract employee at six schools as a school psychologist.  Dr. Bennett calls herself retired, however, she continues to be devoted and compassionate about helping children.  Dr. Bennett enjoys traveling, cooking and learning new things by going to classes.  She also enjoys going to live theatre productions, flea markets, garage sales, sporting events and fishing with her husband.

 

Dr. Bennett is interested in more crisis stabilization centers to reduce the number of consumers being hospitalized and also treating our solders who come home from Iraq.
